Infinity Tournament: Winter is Coming 2013

Domenica 27 ho partecipato al torneo di Infinity "Winter is Coming", organizzato a Spilamberto dai ragazzi del forum italiano non ufficiale di Infinity, con Ariadna.

Mi è piaciuto molto, nonostante fossimo solo in sei (molti hanno "paccato" all'ultimo).

Il bilancio è stato per me positivo, con 2 partite vinte (una per un soffio) ed 1 persa.

Alla fine sono arrivato terzo. E' la prima volta in assoluto che riesco ad arrivare sul podio e sono estremamente soddisfatto del risultato, nonostante avessi visto le missioni appena mezz'ora prima dell'inizio del torneo.

Sono state usate le missioni 101, 304 e 403 del manuale "Paradiso: Campaign Book", un libro splendido esteticamente e ricco di contenuti che però non ho ancora la fortuna di possedere.

Sunday 27 I participated in the tournament Infinity "Winter is Coming", organized  in Spilamberto by the  unofficial Infinity Italian Forum guys, with Ariadna.

I rally enjoyed it, even though we were only six guys.

I won two games (one for a breath) and lost one, ending in the 3rd place. It 's the first time ever that I get on the podium and I am extremely pleased with the result, even though I saw the missions just half an hour before the tournament start.

We used missions 101, 304 and 403 of the manual "Paradiso: Campaign Book," an aesthetically beautiful and rich in content book. Unfortunately I do not possess it yet.

I'm very sorry, but I will stop posting pictures for a while.

I'm currently unable to access my house, because of the renovation in progress. This means I can not reach the camera to take pictures of my works. I can't reach new unpainted minis either, but I transferred some miniatures and my painting station at my grandmother's house, so I'll keep painting (albeit at a slower rate).

I hope I will resume bragging about my minis in a month or so.

Sono molto dispiaciuto, ma per un po' non potrò postare foto dei miei modelli.

I lavori di ristrutturazione mi impediscono attualmente di entrare in casa, e questo vuol dire niente macchina fotografica nè nuove miniature.

Ho portato dai miei nonni sia i colori per dipingere che alcuni modellini, in modo da poter dipingere (anche se meno rispetto ad ora).

Spero di tornare a poter scrivere delle mie miniature in un mese.

Modena Expo Elettronica 2013

Sabato sono andato alla fiera dell'elettronica a Modena. Sono rimasto allucinato dai plastici presenti, e in particolare da questo aeroporto in miniatura.

Last Saturday I went to Expo Elettronica at Modena. I was amazed by this huge, super-detailed airport diorama.

Cadian Refit (GW)

I originally painted this as a punk with a grenade launcher and a SMG, but the quake broke it, so I added a new head and a flaming sword: et voilà le Capitèn! :)

Questo modello in origine era un punkettone con lanciagranate e SMG, ma il terremoto lo ha spaccato in tanti piccoli pezzetti. Ho cambiato la testa ed ho aggiunto una spada fiammeggiante e... Voilà  le Capitèn! :)

Dungeon Twister: Warrior No.2 (GZG)

Questo è un modello della Ground Zero Games. E' un po' piccolo, come scala, ma i dettagli sono buoni, la colata è precisa e pulita ed il prezzo è eccellente.

Mi sono divertito a dipingerlo, anche se credo che il volto non mi sia venuto benissimo.

La userò come guerriero per Dungeon Twister (ovviamente per il team giallo).

This is a Ground Zero Games Miniature. It's a little on the small side, but details are well sculpted, the casting is excellent and the price is low.

I enjoyed painting this model, even if the face is sub-pair.

I'll use her as a warrior for Dungeon Twister (yellow team).

Dungeon Twister: Warrior (Fantasy Flight Games)

I bought this mini some time ago. I became curious about this little mini in a long forgotten Descent box, and I bought it.

The mini in itself isn't that great: it's very 2 dimensional and presented some minor flash.

Despite this, I'm very satisfied of how it turned out. It will be used as a warrior for the blue team in Dungeon Twister.

Ho comperato questa miniatura circa 4 mesi fa in negozio più per curiosità che altro: il suo pacchetto giaceva tutto impolverato in un angolo del negozio, e su questo giganteggiava la scritta "Descent".

La miniatura in sè non è eccezionale: è un po' troppo bidimensionale e aveva un po' di bave.

A dispetto di questo devo ammettere di essermi veramente divertito a dipingerlo, e di essere molto soddisfatto del risultato. Penso lo userò come guerriero per il team blu a Dungeon Twister.

Space Marine with Flamer (GW)

Questo modello mi è stato regalato anni fa da un mio amico, ma durante il terremoto si è spiaccicato al suolo, frantumandosi. Questa è stata l'occasione per ridipingerla e per aggiungere un lanciafiamme.

I got this model years ago as a gift from a friend of mine. During the quake it fell o the ground and got shattered. This was the perfect excuse for a repaint and a weapon swap.

Infinity: Ariadna's Scout

Here it comes the sniper I lightly modified in this post. It has been a real pleasure to paint it. I decided to go for a digital camo pattern, obviously inspired by the woodland MARPAT camo.

To be honest, this is a great model: it has a dinamic pose, large flat areas to paint, no mould lines and challenging tiny details.

In gaming terms, it's a breathtaking unit: Camo, Infiltrator, cheap, with a solid weapon and mines. A well-rounded area-denial miniature.

Ecco lo sniper di cui avevo parlato in questo post. E' stato un vero piacere dipingerlo. Ho scelto uno schema simile al Woodland MARPAT, una mimetica digitale.

Per essere onesti, questo modello è semplicemente favoloso: ha una posa dinamica, numerose aree piatte da dipingere, nessuna linea di stampaggio e meravigliosi piccoli dettagli.

In termini di gioco, è un'unità eccellente: è un economico Infiltratore Camo, con una solida arma principale e mine. Insomma, un'eccellente unità per negare una zona del tavolo all'avversario.

2012---->2013

*DISCLAIMER: NON E' UN POST DI MODELLISMO, MA UNO SFOGO*

E così un nuovo anno è iniziato.
Devo ammettere che il 2012 non mi mancherà per nulla: tra crisi economica, terremoto e ultimo esame ancora da passare, l'anno appena finito è stato un anno di merda.
Inoltre Maelstrom Games è fallita, mangiandosi i soldi del mio ultimo ordine; Berlusconi è tornato in politica a far danni ed il PD è ancora ricattabile da SEL. Lo dico e lo ripeto, è stato un anno di merda.

Cosa desidero dal 2013? Beh, politicamente... un quadernino alla Death Note? Magari...
Parlando seriamente, desidererei un governo di unità nazionale, guidato da Monti; Vorrei non vedere più in parlamento Lega, IDV, SEL ed il Nano Malefico®. Vorrei anche che le strade fossero di panpepato e le auto funzionassero a cappelletti di zucca (assurdità più, assurdità meno...).

Cosa mi aspetto dal 2013?
Comunque vada, so che sarà un anno difficile. Spero tanto che le cose migliorino, a partire dalla situazione economica e dall'onestà delle persone. Spero di riuscire a laurearmi e che la casa sia aggiustata in tempo per l'estate.

And so a new year has begun.
I have to admit that I'll not miss 2012. Economic crisis, earthquake and last exam yet to be passed, the year just ended was a truly shitty year.
Maelstrom Games also went bankruptcy, eating my money; Berlusconi is back in politics (doing damage) and the PD (Democratic Party, is a social-democratic political party) is still blackmailed by SEL (Left Ecology Freedom; it is a socialist political party). It was a shitty year.

What do I want from 2013? Well, politically ... a Death Note notebook? Maybe ...
Seriously, I would like to see a national unity government, led by Monti, to no longer see in parliament North League, IDV (Italy of Values), SEL and the Evil Dwarf®. I also wish that the roads were gingerbread and the car could run by beaf-flavored noodles (more nonsense...).

What do I expect from 2013?
Whatever happens, I know it will be a difficult year. I really hope that things will improve, starting with the economic situation and the honesty of people (Dang, you MG!). I hope to graduate and to have my home repaired before summer.

I hope for the best.
