Il posto fu usato come fortino di vedetta dai bizantini prima, e dai longobardi poi.

Impetus play and various terrain

Domenica sera ho fatto una partita a Impetus con la Chiara (Galli vs Romani).
La partita è finita in parità per mancanza di tempo, con 3 mie unità in rotta e le sue accerchiate e disordinate.

Sunday evening I had an Impetus battle with Chiara (Gaulos vs Romans).
The match ended as a Draw due to lack of time, with 3 gallic units routed (2 S, 1 CM) and the Romans disordered and surrounded.

Ho anche dipinto un paio di scenografie in 25-28 mm, tra cui il muro a secco di cui ho parlato nel post precedente.

Bagh-Mari

Quando l'ispirazione viene, non c'è modo di fermarla. Bisogna battere il ferro finchè è caldo.
Giusto oggi mi è venuto in mente lo schema giusto per il Bagh-Mari, un'unità con l'opzione "Camo".
Questo doveva suggerire il mimetismo, ma per essere coerente con il resto dell'unità doveva anche avere colori che richiamassero lo schema di base delle altre miniature.

When inspiration come, there's nothing to do but to hammer the iron while it's still hot.
Today my mind grasped the right painting scheme for the Bagh-Mari, a unit with the "Camo" option.
It had to suggest mimetism while keeping the same base colours of the army, to mantain the unit coerency.

Sopwith Camel

Come si può evincere dal titolo ho completato il mio primo Sopwith Camel. Non è fedelissimo, ma sono soddisfatto. Di seguito le foto a fianco di uno Spad XII.

As you can guess from the title, I finished my first Sopwith Camel. It's not an exact replica of the real one, but for me it's close enougth to say that I'm satisfied. Next, pics of it next to a Spad XIII.

Ora sto lavorando su alcune unità per Impetus... a presto qualche foto!

Ok, tempo per una foto rapidissima del 2° piano della casa.
Ho colorato il legno di marrone (terra d'ombra).

Ho anche finito di dipingere questi pezzi della Games Workshop: nulla di trascendentale, ma come pezzi da gioco vanno benissimo.

I painted those GW piecies I had lying around: nothing special, but good terrain for gaming.

In questo Weekend ho giocato a "Coloni di Catan" con mia cugina, il suo moroso e la mia ragazza. Ho perduto di un solo punto, con i dadi che mi hanno tradito proprio alla fine.
Ho anche fatto una partita a Impetus con Chiara (Germani vs Romani) a 160 punti e sono stato miseramente sconfitto. Spero avrò più fortuna stasera: si prospetta una partita a Wings of War.

This weekend I played "Settlers of Catan" with my cousin, her boyfriend and my girlfriend. I lost by one point, with dices betraying me ay the very end.
I also made a game with Chiara at Impetus (Germans vs Romans) to 160 points and I was badly defeated. I hope Iwill have more luck tonight: maybe we'll have a Wings of War play.

Settlers of Catan and Dungeon Twister games

La settimana scorsa ho fatto una partita ai Coloni di Catan con i miei amici. Sono riuscito a vincere per un punto soltanto, con  Pioli che mi tallonava.

Last week I had a play at Settlers of Catan with my friends. I managed to win for just one point, with Pioli second. 

Sono riuscito a vincere puntando la mia strategia sulla raccolta di grano, in quanto a causa della conformazione della plancia era facile ottenere il minerale ma il grano, il legno e l'argilla erano scarsi.

I won because I managed to control the wheat, because it was easy to barter the ore I needed with the wheat. It was much more difficult to obtain wood and clay. 

Tra ieri e oggi ho anche giocato per due volte a Dungeon Twister. Il gioco è divertente e stimolante. Un punto decisamente a favore va alla bassa dose di fortuna richiesta: in questo gioco l'unica cosa che conta è la capacità di pianificare le mosse in antcipo rispetto all'avversario.
Decisamente un bel gioco.

In the last two days I played twice at Dungeon Twister. It's fun and interesting. A point must be highlighted: in this game, YOU are the only one that matter. No dices, no randomly-picked cards. You must plan what you're gonna do before the other player can react. It's similar to a chess game, but it's much more "real-ish".
Really a good game.
