Tutorial: Homemade Hex Space Gaming Mat

In this tutorial I want to share with you my latest work: the construction of a hex space gaming mat for Full Thrust. Before you start I must warn you: this project is extremely simple and inexpensive, but very time consuming. You'll use roughly 6 hours per square meter (4 if you can use a large table and 150 poker chips).

Materiale occorrente:

Required materials:
- Non-woven black mat (found at a hobby shop at 2 €/m or at garden shops)

- Poker Chips (unknown price, I got 'em for free).
- UniPosca bianco (2-3€).

- White marker (I suggest a water-based opaque one).

Lay the mat on a table. If you do not use a workbench, protect the surface with old newspapers (sometimes the color go through the mat).
Place the chips in the more compact way possible: each one has to touch the surrounding 6 chips.

Now mark the felt with dots.

Take the chips away. You'll have loads of dots on the mat. They should define a hex pattern.

Now connect the dots with... yes, more dots!

Birthday Purchases: 2nd wave

So here I am.
I just ordered some more goodies from Maelstrom Games. I pre-ordered the new Infinity Paradiso Campaign Book - I simply couldn't resist!
Oh, I added an Ariadna Intel to it, as well as an Higlander SAS. Much needed Chain Rifle infiltrators indeed.

Eccomi qua.

I added a WW2 german box from Wargames Factory. Their artworks are awful, so I'll not bother posting one here. I hope they'll be good, otherwise they'll beef up my zombie horde.

It has been more than a week that I didn't post anything. I haven't painted a model, but I'm working on some scenery for Infinity.

I finally found a good opponent at LotR SBG (GW game). We played three games, ending with two wins and one defeat. Nothing exceptional, we played at 500 pt with objectives around the table. I used Isengard for the first match, an alliance of Haradrim and Easterlings for the second one and in the third one I used Mordor (I lost that match). He always used Rohan.
That said, the game remains fun and tactically interesting, although far outclassed as approval from Infinity.
Next time I will play a Gondor list, probably about 300 pts of infantry and three heroes.
