In questi giorni sto dipingendo un reggimento di Germani (38) della Caesar Miniatures in 20 mm.
Questi entreranno a far parte di un esercito gallico come guerrieri oppure saranno impiegati come ausiliari nell'armata romana che ho in costruzione.
Ma come sono finito a dipingere miniature STORICHE in 20mm?
Beh... l'amore fa fare cose strane.
Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo acquistato a inizio agosto una copia di Impetus. Da allora abbiamo giocato 3 partite (2 volte Cesare vs Pompeo e 1 volta Lucio Emilio Paolo vs Perseo), divertendoci molto (anche stasera partita Macedoni vs Romani Imperiali!). Finora abbiamo usato delle tristissime basi in cartoncino senza alcuna miniatura sopra, ma se tutto va come sperato a breve (tra circa 2-3 mesi) avremo un numero di unità sufficente da poter fare una battaglia seria senza basi in cartoncino.
Poi... beh, dato che ho appena scaricato Impetus Fantasy... magari prossimamente potrei tirare fuori un Romani vs Orchi o qualcosa di simile! :)

These will join a Gallic army a warrior unit or will be used as auxiliaries in the Roman Army I'm building.
But how I ended up painting HISTORICAL miniatures in 20mm ?
Well ... love does do strange things.
In early August I bought a copy of Impetus Rulebook with my girlfriend. Since then we have played 3 times (2 times Caesar vs Pompeus and 1 time Lucio Emilio Paolo vs Perseus), having a great time (playing tonight Macedonians vs Romans Imperial!). So far we have used cardboard bases without miniatures, but if all goes as hoped, soon (in about 2-3 months) we will have a sufficient number of units to make a serious fight with no proxy needed.
And ... Well, since I just downloaded Impetus Fantasy ... maybe soon I could pull off a Romans vs Orcs fight (or something like that!)
