Fantasy Impetus: Gondor vs Isengard (300 pts)

Ieri sera io e la mia ragazza abbiamo fatto una partita (la prima) a Fantasy Impetus in 28 mm e 300 pti.

Last night me and my girlfriend had the first Fantasy Impetus game (28 mm and 300 pts).
We used the following armies:

Nel primo turno i due eserciti tentano di avvicinarsi il più velocemente possibile al nemico.

In the first round, the two armies try to get close to the enemy as quickly as possible.

 
Il tiro degli arceri sul fianco sinistro annienta i Wargriders, mentre la cavalleria pesante sfonda le linee di Uruk-Hai al centro. I due Comandanti gettano le proprie unità l'una contro l'altra al centro, mentre sul lato destro il tiro dei Gondoriani falcia i Wargriders, non prima però che questi infliggano pesanti perdite all'unità.

The shot of the archers on the left side annihilates the Wargriders, while the heavy cavalry breaks through the Uruk-Hai lines in the center. The two captains throw their units against each other in the center, while on the right side the Gondorians shot the Wargriders down, but they manage to inflict heavy losses to the enemy unit before being wiped out.

Il fianco destro degli Uruk collassa, mandando in rotta il comando pincipale e tutto l'esercito.
Una vittoria schiacciante per i Gondoriani (e Chiara).

La partita è stata molto divertente, e abbiamo deciso di giocare la rivincita.

Zombies, Apples and Laziness

Questo non è un blog di cucina, ma l'altro giorno a tavola mio nonno ha portato le mele cotte.
Mele campanine.
Dato che erano così piccole ho fatto un paio di foto per compararle con il mio pollice e con un paio di miniature.

This is not a cooking blog, but the other day my grandfather served baked apples for dinner.
Campanine apples (a variey coming from our area).
Because they were so small I took a couple of pictures to compare them with my thumb and a miniature.

Tornando alle cose pertinenti, ho iniziato a dipingere gli Zombie della Wargames Factory che comperai a Lucca.

Back to business, I started painting my Wargames Factory Zombies.

Ho anche fatto una partita a Impetus con la mia ragazza (stesse forze dell'ultima partita, ma parti invertite).

Purtroppo ho dimenticato di fare delle fotografie. Comunque ho perso.

Impetus: Imperial Romans vs Ancient Germans (200 pt. battle)

Ieri sera io e la mia ragazza ci siamo trovati a fare una partita a Impetus.
Abbiamo deciso di riprendere con calma, usando le seguenti liste.

Romani (Chiara):

Turno 1 e 2: i romani avanzano, e mentre la cavalleria germana si allarga per aggirare la linea nemica due warband si dirigono veso destra, mentre altre due rimangono in attesa.

 Una banda di germani tenta di cogliere di sorpresa i romani nascondendosi nella foresta.

 Turno 3/4/5: la warband di destra converge sulla fanteria leggera, annientando questa, un gruppo di schermagliatori e una legione, prima di venire fermata ed annienta in extremis dalla seconda legione, la quale deve però esporre il fianco al bosco, ignara del pericolo che vi si annida. La cavalleria germana sul fianco sinistro catica i Velites, disperdendoli. Così facendo, però, espone il fianco alle legioni.

Round 3/4/5: the warband on the right converges on the light infantry, destroying it, a group of skirmishers and a legion before being stopped and annhillated in extremis by the second legion, which, however, must expose its side to the forest, unaware of the danger that lurks there. The German cavalry on the left flank charge the Velites, destroing them. Doing so, however, exposes the side to the legions.

Turno 6: Le legioni caricano sul retro la cavalleria germana, mandandola in rotta. Subito dopo, un'orda di germani urlanti sbuca dal fitto del bosco e annienta la legione del fianco sinistro romano, prendendola alla sprovvista sul retro. Vedendosi così inferiori numericamente al nemico, i romani abbandonano i ranghi e fuggono dal campo di battaglia.

Round 6: The legions charge on the back of the German cavalry, sending it into confusion. Soon after that, a horde of screaming Germans emerged from the dense forest and destroyed the Roman legions of the left flnk, taking'em by surprise on the back. So numerically inferior to the enemy, the Romans abandoned their ranks and fled from the battlefield.

Last night I played Impetus with my girl.
We decided to take it easy, using the following lists.

Impetus: 1 Caesar's Legion (with Signifer) and 2 Crusaders Heavy Cavalry

Ho terminato la cavalleria pesante Crociata di cui parlai in questo articolo e una base di Legionari con Signifer (portastendardo).

WW1 Tank MK1 (Airfix)

Alcune foto di un carro che personalmente adoro, il Tank MK1 inglese.
Il kit dell'Airfix l'ho comperato al mercatino dell'usato di Mirandola insieme ad un M-113 A1 (Italeri) e ad un VAB 4x4 (Heller) per 6€.
Sono rimasto soddisfatissimo dell'acquisto. I kit erano completi e den disegnati.
Per la ricerca bibliografica mi sono affidato a "NAVI DA GUERRA 1939 - 45 AEREI DA GUERRA 1939 - 45 CARRI ARMATI 1914 - 45",Andrew Kershaw, edizioni a.i.d., 1975

Some photos of a tank that I really love, the British Tank MK1.
I bought the Airfix kit  together with a  M-113 A1 (Italeri) and a VAB 4x4 (Heller) at the flea market in Mirandola for 6 €.
I am very satisfied of this purchase. The kits were complete and well designed, with no flashes.

Ecco alcune foto di un modello che ho comperato a Bologna al Goblin Store.
Il pezzo si chiama Caperucita Roja, linea Tales Revision della MiniArt Production.
Una recensione sul pezzo la si può trovare su Triplozero, anche se devo dire che il fucile della mia miniatura era tutta una bava.
In sostanza: soggetto interessante, scultura eccellente ma prezzo un po'alto (11,50 €), modello fragile e pessimo stampaggio.

 

Here are some photos of a model that I bought in Bologna at the Goblin Store.
The piece is called Caperucita Roja, Tales Revision line of MiniArt Production.
I must say that my set had loads of flashes.
Summarizing: interesting topic, excellent sculpture but a bit high price (11.50 €) fragile model and bad casting.

Little Impetus Update: Roman WIP

In vista di una possibile ripresa di Impetus, mi sono dato alla pittura dei Romani in scala 1/72 che iniziai più di 3 mesi fa. Ho anche acquistato 4 scatole della HAT (cavalleria gota, comando gallo, guerrieri galli e cavalleria italica) e un cappuccetto rosso della Tales of War al negozio Goblin di Bologna. Era la prima volta che ci andavo, ma sono rimasto molto soddisfatto: il proprietario è affabile e cortese. A Bologna ho visitato anche il Games Academy (IMMENSO!!!! e la commessa era pure gentile) e il Games Workshop, in cui il commesso ha cercato in tutti i modi di affibiarmi le scatole più costose che ci fossero in giro (fetente!). In quest'ultimo ho comperato i Gretchin di WH40K per usarli come mutanti per Wasteland. Ma questa è un'altra storia!


Considering a possible return of Impetus, I started painting some Imperal Romans in 1/72 scale that began more than three months ago. I also bought 4 boxes from HAT (gothic cavalry, gallic command, gallic warband and italian ally cavalry) and a red cap of Tales of War from the Goblin Shop in Bologna. It was the first time I went there, but I was very satisfied: the owner is friendly and kind. In Bologna, I also visited the Games Academy (HUGE!! and the shopkeeper was also good) and the Games Workshop store, in which the salesman has tried in every way to give me the more expensive boxes that there were around (sonofa....!). In the latter I bought the WH40K Gretchin to use as mutants for Wasteland. But that's another story!

Wasteland: an Ongoing Campaign

Ultimamente non ho scritto molto riguardo alle partite che ho fatto, ma vi posso assicurare che sono stato molto attivo.
Ho fatto giusto il primo gennaio una partita a Wings of War (persa clamorosamente), e devo dire che la mia ragazza ha decisamente imparato a pilotare il suo monoposto.
E' un paio di mesi che non giochiamo a Impetus, ma credo che a breve potremo fare un paio di partite a Impetus Fantasy (merito di JET/Jason, http://geektactica.blogspot.com/).

Ma veniamo al sodo. Ho iniziato una campagna di Wasteland con Chiara (la mia ragazza).
Lei ha scelto i paramilitari, io ho preferito una banda di mercanti.

Primo Turno: Chiara ha l'iniziativa.
Sceglie di conquistare un settore, una stazione commerciale.
Attaccanti: 2 soldati e un comandante con 3 armature, 3 elmetti, 2 fucili d'assalto, un combat shotgun e 3 coltelli.
Difensori: 3 guerrieri e un capitano con fucile e coltello (proxati con rangers e geniere uruk-hai)

I difensori riescono quasi ad uccidere uno dei militari, ma vengono sterminati. La vittoria arride agli attaccanti.
Io compero un nuovo scout per i miei mercanti e una panoplia notevolissima per il mercante, mentre lei acquista un soldato con cannone a mano, corazza, elmetto e smg.


Secondo Turno: Chiara ha l'iniziativa.
Sceglie di attaccare un mio settore, una stazione della metropolitana.
Attaccanti: 3 soldati e un comandante con 4 armature, 4 elmetti, 2 fucili d'assalto, un combat shotgun, un cannone a mano, una smg e 4 coltelli.
Difensori: Fat Joe, mercante, con martello (arma gigante), lupara e armatura potenziata; Hassam, prospector, lupara e lama grande; Big Mac, scout, lancia e fucile; The Loner (chiamato Bobby Solo), scout, fucile d'assalto con mirino e coltello; Katrina, scout, fucile e molotov.

La prima partita la stravince Chiara, quindi decidiamo di rigiocarla (lei avrebbe vinto la campagna)
Nella seconda partita, a prezzo di gravissime perdite (Big Mac e Hassam vengono messi fuori combattimento rapidamente, mentre Katrina e Fat Joe rischiano grosso, finendo la partita con 2 pf a testa) i difensori riescono a sconfiggere il nemico, provocando l'annientamento della squadra.
Con i proventi della battaglia compero un trattore con supporto per tiratori e curo (ricompero) Big Mac e Hassam.
Chiara compera un comandante e un soldato e li arma con fucili d'assalto.

Terzo Turno: Io ho l'iniziativa.
Scego di attaccare un'aereo schiantato per rubare le risorse presenti lì intorno.
Attaccanti: i mercanti sopra descritti.
Difensori: 7 bestie piccole.

I miei mercanti riescono facilmente ad eliminare le piccole bestie. Con i proventi dell'azione cambio il fucile di Big Mac con un fucile da cecchino e il trattore con un blindato leggero. Tengo inoltre una giacca in pelle per Bobby Solo.
Chiara compera altri 2 soldati, armandoli con fucili d'assalto, coltelli e granate.



Lately I have not written much about the games I played, but I can assure you that I have been very busy.
I just did a Wings of War game (lost miserably) on 1 Jan. and I must say that my girl has definitely learned how to beat the shit out of me.
It 's also a couple of months that I do not play Impetus, but I think that I'm gonna have soon a few games of Impetus Fantasy (thanks to JET / Jason, http://geektactica.blogspot.com/ ).

But let's get down to business. I started a Wasteland campaign with Chiara (my girlfriend).
She chose the paramilitaries, I preferred a band of merchants.
First Round: Chiara has the initiative.
She choose to conquer an area, a commercial station.
Attachers: 2 soldiers and a captain with 3 body armours, 3 helmets, 2 assault rifles, a combat shotgun and three knives.
Defenders: 3 warriors and a captain with rifle and knife (proxed with rangers and uruk-hai engineer)
The defenders were exterminated. Victory smiles at the attackers.
I bought a new scout for my merchants and a remarkable panoply for the merchant. Chiara bought a soldier with hand gun, armor, helmet and smg.

Second round: Chiara has the initiative.
She choosed to attack my area, a subway station.
Attachers: 3 soldiers and a commander with 4 body armours, 4 helmets, 2 assault rifles, a combat shotgun, a gun in hand, an SMG and 4 knives.
Defenders: Fat Joe, merchant, with hammer (giant weapon), shotgun and power armor; Hassam, Prospector, shotgun and large blade; Big Mac, scout, spear and rifle; The Loner (aka Bobby Solo), scout, assault rifle with scope, knife; Katrina, scout, rifle and Molotov cocktails.
The first game Chiara got a massive victory, so we decided to replay it (she would win the campaign).
In the second game, at the cost of massive losses (Big Mac and Hassam were put out of action quickly, while Fat Joe and Katrina were in big truble, finishing the game with 2 life each) defenders were able to defeat the enemy, causing the complete destruction of the attacking team.
I bought a tractor with running boards and I healed (bought back) Big Mac and Hassam.
Chiara bought a commander and a soldier and armed them with assault rifles.

Third Round: I have the initiative.
I choosed to do a looting mission on a crashed aircraft
Attackers: the merchants listed above.
Defenders: 7 small animals.
My merchants are easily able to eliminate the small animals. With the profits, Big Mac exchange his rifle with a sniper rifle and the tractor was replaced by a light armored vehicle. I also kept a leather jacket for Bobby Solo.
Clare buys 2 more soldiers, arming them with assault rifles, grenades and knives.
